About Us
Miramar Softball Club, or Miramar Aces Baseball as it was first known, was founded in 1937 by Thomas Fahey. Fahey worked for Ford Motor Company, which had started the first league in New Zealand, and was asked whether he would be interested in starting a team in the Eastern Suburbs. Softball became popular very quickly as it was seen as an easy sport to organise, it allowed maximum participation by all players and could be played in a short period of time.
